So much fun, in fact, that I’ve decided to share some of my favorites.
Following is the first: the April 1984 Sports Illustrated story Searching for a Sea of Tranquility about the inimitable Mac O’Grady. If you were around the game at that time, you will remember that O’Grady blasted onto the scene like a comet and disappeared almost as quickly. It's always fun to read stories of the players I grew up with. I too, have a small collection of Golf Digest from Sept 1978 - Mar 1980. I sometimes spend a rainy afternoon reading the advertisements "Prostaff won more in 1978 than even Titleist" ... and the articles "Can Ben Crenshaw ever fulfill his potential?"
